Cosplay of the Day: Robert Baratheon Lost the 'Game of Thrones,' But He Lives On

Who in their right mind even thinks to cosplay as Robert Baratheon? Of all the 'Game of Thrones' characters, he's the last one you'd expect someone to cosplay, which makes today's pick even better.

We see a lot of people trying to emulate Daenerys Targaryen (because obviously), Cersei Lannister, Jon Snow and even King Joffrey, but we never see anyone dressed as the dearly departed Robert Baratheon, the king who died of poisoning back in season 1, leaving Ned Stark to take his place. And we saw how that turned out. Pesky Lannisters.

Robert Baratheon was such a joy to watch on the show, though -- drunk, boisterous and full of hearty laughter, we always loved seeing him on screen. But few cosplayers seem to want to play him... until now. Sjbonnar is a cosplayer from the UK who made this pretty great Baratheon cosplay with the help of his friend Alias Cosplay, who provided the king's crown. Sjbonnar does some pretty atypical cosplay work -- his Penguin from the Batman series is spot-on, and he also cosplays as another 'Game of Thrones' character, Samwell Tarly.

Sjbonnar got together with some of his friends for some 'Game of Thrones' group cosplay, including characters like Littlefinger and Cersei. Check out some pics below, and head over to his Facebook page for many more.
