David O. Russell is continuing his working relationship with Jennifer Lawrence on a third project -- 'The Ends of the Earth,' which has had Lawrence attached for some time now.

THR reports that David O. Russell has signed on to direct 'The Ends of the Earth,' making this two projects currently in development with Russell and Jennifer Lawrence. This one is written by Chris Terrio ('Argo') and tells the fact-based story of Ernest Marland, a wealthy oil tycoon who has an affair with his adopted daughter, Lydie (Lawrence), that threatens to destroy the entire empire they've built. Lydie is a smart young girl who is initially adopted by her uncle Ernest and aunt Virginia, and eventually becomes Ernest's wife. Lydie persuades Ernest to raise the wages of his oil workers and give them access to medical care, which was unheard of at the time and earned her the nickname "the princess of the prairies."

Lawrence is also starring in another project directed by Russell -- an untitled film formerly known as 'American Bulls---,' about the FBI's Abscam project in the 70s, which took down several US congressmen. That film stars Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner, and Lawrence's 'Silver Linings Playbook' co-star Bradley Cooper.

Honestly, we're surprised David O. Russell isn't trying to sign on for a 'Hunger Games' sequel at this point.
