The Deadpool movie costume, as originally designed, was padded with fake muscles. But when Ryan Reynolds showed up on set to play everyone’s favorite Merc With a Mouth, he had so many actual muscles, that the fake muscles looked ridiculous and made the costume too bulky. So the fake muscles were removed. That Reynolds dude is legitimately jacked. That’s just one of the Deadpool facts in the latest installment of You Think You Know Movies!

Deadpool was shot on a budget of just $58 million, a tiny amount when compared to the going rate of most superhero films (both Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: Civil War cost well over $200 million). Despite its relatively small scale, Deadpool still became the first R-rated movie in history to make more than $100 million at the domestic box office in its first opening weekend in theaters. He might have seemed like a cult comics character, but Fox (with encouragement from directors like David Fincher and James Cameron, who both read the Deadpool screenplay) figured out how to turn him into a mainstream smash.
