It looks like Ed Helms and Christina Applegate won't be taking that 'Vacation' they've been planning anytime soon. New Line has delayed the reboot, citing "creative differences."

According to THR, New Line has delayed the planned 'Vacation' reboot starring Ed Helms and Christina Applegate due to "creative differences." The film was set to be directed by writing partners John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, with the duo also making their directorial debut on the project, which was set to begin shooting in Atlanta in July.

It seems some behind the scenes want the film to be a more family-friendly, PG-13 affair, while others want to stay classic and go for an R-rating, just like the original 'Vacation' film. Production could be pushed back a few months or even back to later this year if an agreement isn't reached soon.

The plot of 'Vacation' follows a grown-up Rusty Griswold (Helms) as he embarks on a vacation with his own family -- one that quickly becomes the vacation from hell. Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo were set to reprise their roles of Clark and Ellen Griswold with cameos in the film, which also stars Christina Applegate as Rusty's wife.

Seems that life is imitating art here, as this 'Vacation' is quickly devolving into a nightmare.
