Just a few days after the start of a mysterious viral campaign, a few new images from 'Elysium' have arrived. Things have been pretty quiet since the first footage from 'District 9' director Neill Bomkamp's new sci-fi action film premiered at 2012 Comic-Con...do these photos and the ongoing viral campaign suggest that a trailer is in the near future?

The images come courtesy of Coming Soon (who found them at Judao). For those who haven't been following 'Elysium,' the official synopsis should fill you in nicely:

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Now check out the photos for yourself below! The first gives us another look at Matt Damon's character's newly acquired cybernetic enhancements (which, we're told, will allow him to dispatch anything that stands in his way in the most gruesome manner possible) and the second gives us our first look at Alice Braga, whose character is still very much unknown to us.

'Elysium' will arrive in theaters on August 9th.
