'Elysium's Jodie Foster Shows Her Futuristic LookDamon Houx |
One of our most anticipated summer movies of 2013 is easily Neill Blomkamp's 'Elysium,' which hasn't let out much other than a couple of stills. We probably won't get a trailer until March, but until then, here's the first look at Jodie Foster's character.
These images first surfaced on the twitter account SImply Jodie, and other than the extreme haircut and the futuristic looking Bluetooth-esque device on her ear, this doesn't reveal much, but that's okay, we're happy to be surprised by the film. As she is playing the villain of the piece (and the film has class warfare elements), she looks very business oriented that's for sure.
Here's the film's synopsis:
In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
And here are those stills. 'Elysium' Opens August 9.
