'Elysium' doesn't hit theaters until August of 2013 but today we get a new look at the mysterious film and get to see Matt Damon in his futuristic robo-mecha-suit. Is this the new sci-fi mega hit?

We've seen very little out of 'Elysium' at this point (unless you were one of the lucky ones who saw the footage at Comic-Con 2012). Today we get a new look at 'Elysium' in just the second official photo released. Once again it focuses on star Matt Damon, who plays a cyborg of sorts who has only a few days to retrieve a radiation cure from a gorgeous space station where the rich live. (Interestingly enough, it's our second photo this week of an A-list star in a mecha-suit after this photo of Tom Cruise from 'All You Need Is Kill.')

'Elysium' is the follow-up film from writer/director Neill Blomkamp who wowed audiences with his debut film, 'District 9' (which was nominated for Best Picture in 2009.

In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium – but that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. Max (Matt Damon) agrees to take on a life-threatening mission, one that could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Originally set for release in March, the film was pushed back after 'Robocop' left the August 9, 2013 date and moved to 2014 (giving 'Elysium' a big summer spot. Take a look at the new 'Elysium' photo below as well as another shot of Matt Damon in action.
