Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah' is in the midst of casting, and the latest news is that 'Harry Potter' star Emma Watson is up for the role of Ila, a love interest for one of Noah's children.

This comes from Deadline Hollywood, and she would join a cast that already includes Russell Crowe and Logan Lerman. She would be the love interest of Noah's son Shem, the role that is being played by Douglas Booth.

Watson has yet to establish herself out of the 'Potter' universe, if only partly because of the commitment that series had over the last decade of her life. She's got 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' coming out shortly, and made a brief (but unmemorable) appearance in 'My Weekend with Marilyn.'

But Watson seems to be playing it smart by trying to work with talented directors. She's got a role in Sofia Coppola's upcoming movie 'The Bling Ring,' and is also looking to show that she can do comedy in Seth Rogen's 'The End of the World.' And though she will always be Hermione Granger to a sizable chunk of the world, she's making the sort of choices that suggest she's in it for the long haul, and that she can last.
