Bleep. Bleep blop. Bleep bloop blorp.

(That’s robot talk for “Welcome back to another exciting installment of Post Credits, ScreenCrush’s YouTube Video Review Show. On this stellar new episode, ScreenCrush Editor-in-Chief Mike Sampson and Managing Editor Matt Singer discuss the new sci-fi thriller Ex Machina.”)

(And yes, robots can communicate a great deal with just a few bleeps and blorps. That’s why they’re robots. It’s all 0s and 1s.)

Don’t worry, the video review isn’t in robot talk (although Matt does a very convincing robot impression at one point); our two faithful critics stick to plain old English to discuss writer/director Alex Garland’s bold new drama about a tech genius (Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Oscar Isaac) who invents a new kind of artificial intelligence, and tests its ability to pass for human with the help of one of his employees (Also, Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Domhnall Gleeson). It’s a seriously messed up love triangle in which everyone is lying, but not everyone is human.

Topics explored on this episode include Oscar Isaac and his sick dance moves, where Ex Machina ranks with other recent robot movies like Chappie and Automata, and the dicey decision to build an elaborate metaphor for female empowerment in a film that contains a ton of female nudity. Plus, Matt discusses Domhnall Gleeson’s “donghall gleeson.” Take a guess what that is!

So what are you waiting for? Watch this sucker before Skynet gains consciousness and starts the Judgment Day War! At this point, it’s only a matter of time. In closing, blorp bleep bloop.
