Just in case you were worried about how 'The Bourne Legacy' connects to the previous three entries in the series, Universal Pictures has supplied a helpful little featurette to make some of those connections for you.

'The Bourne Legacy' is written and directed by Tony Gilroy, who penned the scripts for the previous films, but as you probably know by now it does not star Matt Damon as Jason Bourne. Our hero this time is Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner), who appears to be a graduate of -- or at least connected to -- the same program that produced Bourne himself.

The interesting thing about 'The Bourne Legacy' is that it takes place concurrently with the events of the previous films and springboards off them, which is how Gilroy perhaps managed to get series vets Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn back for this picture.

The newbies alongside Renner include Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, giving the movie one hell of a cast in addition to a sterling franchise name behind it.

The featurette outlines all this, gives us a nice helping of scenes from the movie (albeit many of which we've seen in previous trailers) and also serves up interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.

Just when you thought the summer was winding down, 'The Bourne Legacy' opens on August 10th.
