Let’s assume that every movie or movie series exists in its own universe. Let’s assume that characters from Random Movie A could never walk down the street and bump into characters from Random Movie B. But let’s also assume that there are places where the walls between dimensions are thin and universes cross over ... and that it’s at these points where your most favorite and feared movie icons can brush shoulders. There is no proper backstory for Hell’s Club (and it certainly doesn’t need one), but we can assume as much. As it stands on its own, it’s one of the most clever video mash-ups we have ever seen.

Clocking in at nearly ten minutes in length, Hell’s Club takes many of the most famous (and not so famous) nightclub scenes in movie history and edits them together. With new lighting effects to help give everything a uniform look, the video depicts a seedy and lively location populated by characters from all genres. Editor Antonia Maria De Silva should be commended. While most mash-ups act as video lists counting F-bombs or easter eggs, this manages to tell a story.

There are two many movies featured to list, but it’s actually astonishing how all of them slid together. Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker order drinks from a bar commanded by Tom Cruise from Cocktail ... who shares a glance with Tom Cruise from Collateral, as he stalk the dance floor. The Terminator aims to kill while Tony Montana looks on. Rollergirl from Boogie Nights, Patrick Bateman from American Psycho, and Blade all hang out on the fringes. It’s nuts.

A tip of the hat to Movies.com for bringing this one to our attention.
