A little boy’s family accidentally leaves him at home while they go on Christmas vacation, and two robbers try to invade the home, leaving the boy to fend for himself. That description of ‘Home Alone’ definitely sounds like it could be a horror thriller, and thanks to this new video, we now know what this holiday classic would look like if it were actually a horror flick.

YouTube user Bobby Burns posted this new video, in which he recut footage from ‘Home Alone’ and made it into a trailer for a horror film. The new “trailer” proves that the music, editing, and tone of a film all make a huge difference. With a slowed-down version of Tchaikovsky’s “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” from the Nutcracker, this new video removes all the humor from Kevin’s hijinks and makes the Wet Bandits more threatening.

Perhaps the only real flaw with the video is that there are some parts of the film—like Buzz’s tarantula crawling on Daniel Stern’s cross-eyed face—that are going to be hilarious no matter what. Still, ‘Home Alone’ remains as popular as ever with those of us who grew up in the ‘90s, so pretty much anytime there’s a new spin on this nostalgia favorite, we’re going to be pretty stoked.

And if you’re wondering what Macaulay Culkin’s been up to lately: Yes, he’s still around, and the former Kevin McAllister is still a huge fan of pizza.
