After the wild success of the Justin Lin directed sequel 'Fast Five,' another sequel from Lin was a no-brainer. Last fall rumors began swirling that Jason Statham was being eyed for a part in 'Fast Six,' the next installment of the franchise, but it looks like the British brute won't be signing on after all.

According to Twitch, a deal couldn't be reached to bring Statham on board the series, which is already packed with the star power of Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel. Oh, and that Paul Walker guy, who is allowed to be in the series out of some sense of moral obligation, or maybe Justin Lin really likes 'Varsity Blues.'

Inability to reach a deal implies that the studio simply couldn't pay Statham enough, which seems silly considering this guy has been the face of both 'The Transporter' and 'Crank' series, and he even stuck with Guy Ritchie during that whole Madonna phase. How many of you saw -- or even heard of -- 'Revolver'? Yeah, we didn't think so.

Apparently street racing is just a touch too crass for the guy that starred in a 'Death Race' remake.
