The latest extended spot for Jurassic World leans real heavily on your nostalgia, that muscle in your body that responds happily to things that remind you of other things you loved. Our old pal John Hammond (the late, great Sir Richard Attenborough) narrates, welcoming you to Jurassic World — and okay, that might be an easy way to get audiences to perk up, but it’s also just so nice to hear that voice again.

Would Jurassic Park creator and misguided visionary John Hammond be excited or dismayed by the concept of Jurassic World? The new park is home to Hammond Labs, named in honor of that lovable old loon, but I have a feeling even Hammond himself would scoff at the audacity of Jurassic World.

The new spot also relies on the classic John Williams score, utilizing a more somber and slightly disjointed version because, you know, things are really hitting the fan this time around.

Jurassic World takes place 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park, as a new hybrid dinosaur is created to reinvigorate dwindling park attendance. Crazy hybrid dino breaks loose, havoc and horror ensues. No big deal.

Jurassic World stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Nick Robinson, Ty Simpkins and Judy Greer, and hits theaters on June 12.
