You know Kristen Stewart from the Twilight franchise. But did you know she got the role of Bella Swan because of her work in another movie? In 2007, Stewart played a supporting role in Into the Wild starring Emile Hirsch. It was Hirsch who recommended Stewart to Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, and set the actress on the path to her most famous part. That’s just one of the facts in the newest episode of You Think You Know Movies!

Because Bella Swan is supposed to have brown eyes, Stewart wore contact lenses throughout the shooting of the Twilight Saga. Stewart’s natural eye color is green. For her role as Joan Jett in the 2010 film The Runaways, Stewart learned how to play guitar, and carefully studied the real Jett’s stage presence and moves. Stewart also played guitar and sang in Into the Wild; an impromptu performance of the Beatles’ “Blackbird” was even part of her audition for the film.
