We first saw a teaser trailer for Legend back in April, but the full-length trailer is even better. The film stars Tom Hardy in the dual roles of gangster twins Reggie and Ron Kray, real-life mobsters who ruled London in the ‘60s. Legend appears to pull off some neat cinematic trickery with Hardy often sharing the screen with himself, but more impressive than that is the way the actor tackles both parts.

If you’ll notice in the trailer, Hardy not only plays Ron and Reggie with different vocal styles, but he gives them each a different look — aside from the obvious glasses, one of them looks a bit heavier than the other, and I cannot even imagine the awesome dedication Hardy put into this. The making of Legend is going to make for a great bonus feature on the eventual Blu-ray, and it’ll be interesting to see how director Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential) pulled it off.

Even more notable is that fight scene between Tom Hardy and himself, which will likely be one of the more technically accomplished and entertaining parts of the film.

From Academy Award® winner Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential, Mystic River) comes the true story of the rise and fall of London’s most notorious gangsters, Reggie and Ron Kray, both portrayed by Tom Hardy in an amazing double performance. Legend is a classic crime thriller taking us into the secret history of the 1960s and the extraordinary events that secured the infamy of the Kray twins.

Legend also features a fantastic supporting cast, including Emily Browning, Christopher Eccleston, David Thewlis, Kingsman’s Taron Egerton and Chazz Palminteri. It hits theaters on October 2.
