How confident is Warner Bros. that 'The LEGO Movie' will be a huge hit? They're already started working on 'LEGO Movie 2'. Yep, the upcoming animated feature hasn't even graced theaters yet, but with box office predictions through the roof and nearly every review a rave, everyone realizes that they might as well strike while the iron is hot.

The news comes via The Wrap, who reports that screenwriter Jared Stern had been tapped to work on the script with another unnamed writer. This suggests that Chris Miller and Phil Lord probably won't return to write and direct the sequel, which is sad news because so much of the success of 'The LEGO Movie' was due to their creative genius. Well, at least we have another of their films to look forward to in 2014, since '22 Jump Street' opens later this year.

This won't be the first time a Miller/Lord animated joint got sequelized -- 'Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2' went ahead with the directing team only involved as executive producers and ended up performing quite well at the box office. And we get it: the execs see a major brand to continue profiting from, so if Miller and Lord aren't interested in returning, they'll move ahead with a new creative team.

'The LEGO Movie' opens this Friday, where it will undoubtedly crush 'The Monuments Men' and 'One Chance' into a fine powder, money-wise.
