Samuel L. Jackson, John Malkovich and - perhaps most notoriously - Zooey Deschanel have all appeared in commercials hawking Siri, the voice command feature on the iPhone. And now they're joined by one of our greatest living directors, Martin Scorsese.

While Scorsese didn't direct the commercial (that we'd like to see...), he stars as himself, riding in the back of a taxi. (Get it? Martin Scorsese in a taxi? Oh look, the cab even has the same number as the one in 'Taxi Driver!')

In the spot, Marty uses Siri to move some appointments, stalk his friend "Rick" ("Is that Rick? Where is Rick?") and check out the traffic in Manhattan.

It's kind of weird to see the guy who directed 'Goodfellas' and 'Taxi Driver' making appearances in commercials but a) this isn't the first time he's done it (watch this old American Express ad, which is frankly far better than this Apple ad), and b) it's actually fun to watch him play the "Marty" character.

Watch the new Martin Scorsese iPhone commercial below and let us know what you think.
