Matthew McConaughey has just won Best Actor in a drama film at the 2014 Golden Globes, announced during the live awards ceremony on Sunday, January 12, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Alright, alright, alright! Matthew McConaughey beat out some stiff competition -also nominated for the award were Chiwetel Ejiofor ('12 Years a Slave'), Idris Elba ('Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom'), Tom Hanks ('Captain Phillips'), Matthew McConaughey ('Dallas Buyers Club') and Robert Redford ('All Is Lost') - to win a Golden Globe for his performance in 'Dallas Buyers Club.' With McConaughey and Leto, both of the main actors won for this film.

McConaughey famously lost over 40 pounds to play Ron Woodruff in the film from director Jean-Marc Vallée.

If you thought his newfound acting success would change McConaughey, he opened up with a few "Alright!"s and ended with his famous 'Dazed and Confused' catchphrase, "Just keep livin'.'"
