'Mean Girls' Nine Years Later: The Classic Moments That Still Make Us Laugh

EDIT

Paramount Pictures

'Mean Girls' hit theaters in 2004, nine years ago today, and became an instant classic -- a tale of high school superficiality and clique culture run amok. It solidified Lindsay Lohan as a huge star and introduced us to Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lizzy Caplan. But most importantly, it gave us endlessly quotable moments -- stuff we're still laughing about nine years later. To celebrate this anniversary, we've collected GIFs of our favorite and funniest moments.

'Mean Girls' was so much more than a teen girl movie -- with a script by Tina Fey, the film followed a new student named Cady Heron (Lohan) as she left the world of home school for the catty world of high school. She befriends outsiders (Lizzy Caplan and Daniel Franzese), whom she teams up with to bring down a clique known as the Plastics, a trio played by Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, and Rachel McAdams as their horrifying leader. But then Cady starts acting just like the girls she despises.

The film taught us a lot about embracing our true selves, not being ashamed of our differences, and not judging others. And it's not just a great movie for young women -- it's a great movie for all women.

But most importantly, the movie is seriously hilarious, and even after nine years, the jokes haven't aged one bit. We've collected GIFs of the best and funniest moments that still make us laugh almost a decade later.
