One of the best working actors these days is Michael Shannon (recently of 'Premium Rush'), because he always gives a committed performance, even if he's mostly asked to act a little off. He should be perfect for 'The Iceman,' the story of a real life assassin who was also a devoted father and husband.

The film is based on the true story of Richard Kuklinski who is believed to have killed more than 250 people over a span of thirty years. In the film Shannon is joined by Ray Liotta, Chris Evans, James Franco, and Winona Ryder, and the film was directed by Ariel Vromen.

What makes this look like fun is that it's been a while since we've seen a movie go for the span of a couple decades, which means that every couple minutes it appears that Michael Shannon and Chris Evans will be sporting different and awesome wigs and facial hair. And for those people still offended by his performance at the Oscars, it could be fun to see Shannon kill James Franco. 'The Iceman' premiered at the Venice Film Festival, and is hitting the festival circuit, with Telluride and Toronto Film Festivals lined up. The film doesn't have a release date just yet, but if it's an Oscar contender, expect one shortly.
