Chloe Moretz is a tricky actress whose talents are often misread or misused (see: Carrie), but when she’s utilized well, she really shines (see: Clouds of Sils Maria, Laggies). The young actress has yet to star in a legitimate comedy, though she did show off some solid comedic chops on 30 Rock. That’s about to change, as Moretz is in talks to join Neighbors 2, marking her first part in a real comedy film.

That is Unless you count Kick-Ass, which was darkly comedic, or Kick-Ass 2, which was both funny and offensive in all the wrong ways, but as Variety reports, Moretz is joining her first real comedy feature with Neighbors 2. Details on the film’s plot or Moretz’s role are not yet available, but I have my fingers crossed that she’ll be playing one of the new antagonists. Moretz has a real knack for playing bratty characters, similar to her part as the scheming Kaylie Hooper on 30 Rock, which not only showed off her comedic talents, but a nice range as well.

Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien are returning to script the sequel, with director Nicholas Stoller returning as well alongside stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne. The first film centered on the escalating battle between a young, normal couple (Rogen and Byrne) and their new frat bro neighbors (Efron & Co.)

Moretz appears next alongside Charlize Theron in Dark Places, based on the Gillian Flynn novel. She also stars in November Criminals, The 5th Wave, and the recently announced Brain on Fire.

Neighbors 2 hits theaters on May 13, 2016.
