If you’ve seen Showgirls then you know that the cast of the film had to do some pretty racy stuff: Stripping, sex scenes, and more. But did you know the one scene that made the actors truly uncomfortable? It was the monkey scene. Apparently the animal actors in the scene wouldn’t stop staring at the cast’s naked breasts, freaking them all out. That’s just one of the dazzling facts featured in the newest episode of You Think You Know Movies!

Although Showgirls is the highest-grossing NC-17 movie in Hollywood history, it also turned out to be a disappointment compared to the last film by its director and writer, Paul Verhoeven and Joe Eszterhas. (That movie, by the way, was Basic Instinct.) After its underwhelming opening weekend, Eszterhas took out a full-page ad in Variety claiming that the marketing for Showgirls did not represent the film, and encouraged female viewers to buy tickets. Eszterhas also encouraged teenagers to use fake IDs to see the movie. Shockingly, these tactics proved unsuccessful.
