'Mirror Mirror' has barely been in theaters for less than a couple of weeks and Universal Pictures has already determined that 'Snow White and the Huntsman' is the best movie of them all, so much so that they're willing to put their money where their mouth is with slowly but surely putting together the building blocks for a spinoff movie. What character can be so attractive for them story-wise that they have to move forward with this?

Apparently the Huntsman is somebody Universal Pictures would love to get to know even more after the Snow White story is told.  The Hollywood Reporter reports that they want to center the spinoff on none other than the Huntsman, but how could that happen? After all, nobody's seen 'Snow White and the Huntsman' yet so we don't know exactly how the story ends for the rugged commoner with a brave heart.

In a way, it would be easy for Universal to go ahead with this movie despite the Huntsman's fate in the 'Snow White' movie if they turn it into a spinoff prequel of sorts. Hey, it's been done before. But there's still a couple of things for them to consider before they end up officially green lighting the project.

The first of those is the actor Chris Hemsworth. He's been formally introduced to audience members everywhere last year as Marvel's favorite blonde-haired Asgardian prince in 'Thor.' They've already green lit the sequel, which is scheduled to begin production sometime this year, so if they want Hemsworth back as the Huntsman they'll have to wait a little bit to move forward with this, which surely they're aware of.

The second is whether or not 'Snow White and the Huntsman' actually turns into the mega hit that Universal is hoping for it to be. The poor studio has been hitting on some hard times during the summer within the past couple of years, finding out that their tentpole pictures weren't the huge money makers they hoped they would be. They have a really good chance to capture the attention of audiences across the nation, and possibly the world, with Rupert Sanders' 'Snow White and the Huntsman' this June. So basically it comes down to a matter of how much this puppy makes.

'Snow White and the Huntsman' is directed by Rupert Sanders with a cast that includes Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and Sam Claflin. The epic action fantasy is due out in theaters on June 1st.
