The end is nigh: 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' is right around the corner and fans will soon have to say goodbye to Starz's soapy, bloody and legitimately insane drama series. When all is said and done, this stylish and bizarre take on the story of Spartaus will have run for three seasons and one prequel miniseries...and it really doesn't feel like enough. A  new trailer for the final season has hit and it promises storylines that somehow manage to look bigger and nuttier than anything that's come before.

If there's one word that seems to describe what we've seen of 'Spartacus: War of the Damned' so far, it's big. The battles look massive, the stakes have risen astronomically and Spartacus looks like he'll be shouting angry commands at greater volumes than ever before...mainly because he has an army of tens of thousands at his beck and call. Sheer escalation was the only real direction to go with this show -- topping the events of last season will be difficult, but know this show, they'll pull it off.

Here's the official synopsis for the new season:

"Spartacus: War of the Damned takes place following the defeat of Roman commander Gaius Claudius Glaber. Spartacus and his men have amassed major victories against the Romans after the Battle of Vesuvius. These victories have not only forged the legend of Spartacus, but have greatly increased the ranks of the rebellion slaves to more than 30,000. Rome is indeed beginning to tremble at the threat Spartacus now represents."

You can watch the beginning of the end of Spartacus and his army when the show returns on January 25th.
