When the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton hits theaters this week, it will star Corey Hawkins as the great Dr. Dre. But did you know Dre was originally supposed to be played by Fruitvale Station star Michael B. Jordan, who dropped out because of scheduling conflicts with Fantastic Four? That’s just one of the surprising facts packed into the latest episode of You Think You Know Movies, which takes you through South Central for a trip into Straight Outta Compton!

Ice Cube is played in Straight Outta Compton by his real-life son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., and Eazy-E’s son, Eric Wright Jr. (aka Lil Eazy-E), auditioned to play his father in the film as well. Wright ultimately wasn’t cast, though; instead, director F. Gary Gray and producers Ice Cube and Dr. Dre chose actor Jason Mitchell for the role. (Wright still provided advice to Mitchell on how best to embody his late father.)
