Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston) have had a tumultuous relationship. After attempting to destroy his brother and claim the throne of Asgard in 'Thor,' the trickster god unleashed an alien army on New York City in 'The Avengers' and was taken back home in chains for it. But in 'Thor 2,' our title hero will have to put all this aside to defeat a dark new threat.
Chris Hemsworth is a busy man. In addition to being the Marvel movie universe's Thor, the Australian actor has been promoting the upcoming Ron Howard drama 'Rush,' which sees him stepping into the role of Formula One racer James Hunt. However, no interview with Mr. Hemsworth could be complete without asking him about 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron,' but the God of Thunder himself can't spill any details. After all, he doesn't even have any details to spill. He doesn't even know who Ultron is!
Ron Howard's 'Rush' is over two straight hours of lionizing F1 drivers as though they were Gods who ride among us. That aspect is demeaning and insufferable. But the thing is, 'Rush' is a good enough movie on its merits that I pretty much enjoyed it. If you are one who enjoys racing, I can only imagine how you'll react. (Perhaps you should wear a bib for all the drooling.)
For the most part, comic book movies have stuck to summer release dates of late, so it will be interesting to see how 'Thor: The Dark World' fares this November. But of all the superheroes, Thor seems the most autumnal (perhaps it's the thunder). But we've now got the film's first TV spot, as the film opens in a little over two months.
With the release date of 'Thor: The Dark World' only about two months away, two new posters have arrived to remind us why we're excited for the next stage of Marvel's Phase Two. With each poster focusing on Thor and Loki respectively, these look like the first of two in a series. We'll probably get character posters for the rest of the film's cast in the coming weeks as marketing heats up.
