Many of us loved the latest James Bond movie, 'Skyfall,' which reflects in the film's $1 billion worldwide box office, but the film is something its director, Sam Mendes, does not want to repeat. We all know (or rather should know by now) that he doesn't have plans to return for the next 007 movie -- in fact, the very thought of doing so makes him "physically ill."
It's the question on the lips of every fan now that 'Skyfall' is on their DVD shelf: when is the next James Bond movie coming out? After all, 'Skyfall' made over $1 billion at the box office, earned universal acclaim from critics and audiences and even took home a few Oscars. Surely they must be fast tracking 'Bond 24!' Although there's no date locked in yet, it looks like they have plans on 'Bond 24' hitting theaters in November, 2015.
It was the kind of news that turned the heads of James Bond fans everywhere, even those who would normally never give the Academy Awards a second glance: all six actors who have played Agent 007 would appear on the 2013 Oscars stage together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic spy franchise. It would be a legendary sight...so it's too bad that it's not happening.
With 'Skyfall' firmly enshrined as the biggest James Bond film of all time (not to mention one of the biggest movies of all time, period), it only makes sense for the producers of the venerable series to keep the good times rolling and start talking Bond 24. They locked up screenwriter John Logan almost immediately after 'Skyfall' first dropped, and now it looks like director Sam Mendes is close to returning as well.

'Skyfall' is finally making its US debut this week, but it's already gone above and beyond at the UK box office. Since its October premiere overseas, the latest James Bond flick has surpassed the country's sales of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' and has blown away the last two Daniel Craig-led Bond films, and the hopes are even higher for its release here.
But what if our current 007 actor wasn't around to bask in the success of 'Skyfall' (or 'Casino Royale' and 'Quantum of Solace,' for that matter)? Despite the film's successes, talk has recently shifted to Craig as he revealed that he -- how can we put this delicately? -- kind of hates portraying James Bond.
