After struggling to secure a director for a while now, upcoming action thriller Narco Sub has hired Brian Kirk, known best for helming episodes of Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire. Liam Neeson is set to star in the new film, which will once again find him playing a government official taking on some very bad dudes.

About a week ago, Academy Award-nominated director Ruairi Robinson debuted a proof-of-concept teaser for The Leviathan, an ambitious sci-fi project written by Fight Club screenwriter Jim Uhls. The teaser was so impressive that it’s drawn the attention of Neill Blomkamp and X-Men writer/producer Simon Kinberg, who have just come on board to produce the project.

We’ve known for a while that Bryan Singer’s ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ will focus more on the young cast, and Patrick Stewart recently confirmed that neither he nor Ian McKellen will be returning for the upcoming installment in the franchise. While we won’t see those old, familiar faces, Singer is bringing back another ‘X-Men’ star for the sequel: Rose Byrne will return to reprise her role as Moira MacTaggert from ‘X-Men: First Class.’

The ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot is scheduled to hit theaters in seven months, yet we’ve known so little about Josh Trank’s film, and we’ve seen even less (like, zero) from the project. That changes now, as Trank and producer Simon Kinberg have opened up about the film, discussing everything from the comic book and cinematic influences, to the score and production, and we’ve even got our first official peek at the set.

Given how little we’ve heard about the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot, it’s appeared as though Fox may be a bit nervous or unsure about the film. We’re seven months away from the release, and we’ve yet to see a single promotional image or teaser, which is pretty unusual for a major blockbuster. There have been a lot of rumors swirling this week, and with the announcement that the film is heading back to do some reshoots, those rumors are swirling even more. But there’s some good news: you’ll be able to see the first teaser next month.

Although all of the public focus is currently on the looming release of ‘Star Wars: Episode 7,’ Disney, Lucasfilm and director Gareth Edwards are currently trying to whip the first standalone film in the saga into shape. A few days ago, original screenwriter Gary Whitta amicably departed the project after completing his initial draft, leading the entire internet to wonder what’s next for this mysterious project, which is still due out in 2016. Now, it looks like the next screenwriter writer has already been found. Enter Simon Kinberg.
