‘Expendables 3’ was not a hit; there’s no way around that. After the first film grossed over $100 million, the second grossed $85 million and the third, a paltry $35 million. Most of us would probably point to the fact that the ‘Expendables’ franchise was never made up of particularly good movies and eventually that wore thin with audiences. Sylvester Stallone would prefer to deflect the blame elsewhere though: the film’s PG-13 rating. He says that when ‘The Expendables 4’ happens it will ditch the PG-13 rating and go back to it’s gritty R-rated roots. Also, there's going to be an ‘Expendables 4'??

Watch Harrison Ford Tell Sylvester Stallone to "Shut the F--k Up" in This 'Expendables 3' Gag Reel

If the final box office haul of ‘The Expendables 3’ is anything to go by, you probably didn’t see the third film in Sylvester Stallone‘s “old guys blow stuff up for two hours” series. However, that won’t stop you from enjoying a new gag reel from the film, which is noteworthy because it features some of the biggest names in modern Hollywood goofing off, exchanging terrible jokes, and generally acting like children. Yes siree, this is a masterpiece among gag reels.

While Stallone may be perfectly comfortable selling himself out, his accomplices on this latest jokey saga seem to have tackled their ludicrous material with varying degrees of seriousness – and as this ranked rundown details, also with varying degrees of embarrassment. Ahead, of the established stars, we rank from least to most who we feel the most embarrassed for that he (all hes!) is in 'The Expendables 3.'

If you're looking for any kind of plot details in the final 'Expendables 3' trailer, you're probably going to be left wanting. This short-but-sweet preview is all about things that go boom, whether they be cars, buildings, boats or people. However, if your idea of a good trailer involves Harrison Ford laughing maniacally while firing missiles from his helicopter, you're probably in for a treat.

Sylvester Stallone has had two great franchise characters, Rocky Balboa and John Rambo, and was able to resurrect both over the last decade successfully. But though Balboa's gloves are hung up (even if Stallone recently paid homage to that character), it looks like we're going to get a 'Rambo 5' that promises to be one of the most thoughtful of the series' sequels.

There's no way the set of 'The Expendables 3' wasn't a fascinating place to be. After all, you don't put personalities as varied and eclectic as Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford in one place without generating at least a few stories worth sharing. A new batch of images from the set of the upcoming action film makes us wish we could have been a fly on the wall for a few days. What exactly would Antonio Banderas and Wesley Snipes say to each other?

Call us suckers, but going by the new trailer for 'The Expendables 3,' we think this may be the one that finally gets it right. Both 'The Expendables' and 'The Expendables 2' were well-meaning but sloppy nostalgia exercises, but we're hoping that the third time is the charm and that this one will be a well-meaning and actually entertaining nostalgia exercise.

The 'Expendables' franchise has one thing going for it: nothing else can top it when it comes to the sheer number of interesting and noteworthy actors on screen. So it's not too surprising when 'The Expendables 3' drops 16 character posters on the same day because of course 'The Expendables 3' would have 16 characters important enough to warrant their own character posters.

Straight Tooken: How Liam Neeson and an Older Generation Became Action Superstars

Since its inception, movies have starred the beautiful people. Young people. The kind of people you simply wouldn't see on every street corner. It's such a Hollywood cliche to discuss the film industry chewing up young stars and spitting them back out once they start to get up there in years, but it's only a cliche because it's happened enough times to take on truth.
But, there have been times in cinematic history where youth and beauty have taken a backseat to age age and experience. Every so often, we stop caring about traditional movie stars and start embracing something the folks who look like they've taken a beating. Sometimes, the older folks start to take over the spotlight and right now, we're living in the age of the Old Man Action Hero.
But why now?
