A new film from filmmaking brothers Joel and Ethan Coen is always highly-anticipated, but it turns out we're just going to have to wait a little longer for their latest effort. The star-studded 'Hail, Caesar!' which reunites the directors with George Clooney and Tilda Swinton, has been officially given a 2016 release date, and we have a feeling this one will be well-worth the wait.
We recently learned that Joel and Ethan Coen's next movie, 'Hail Caesar!,' would reunite the writing/directing duo with their 'O, Brother Where Art Thou' and 'No Country for Old Men' stars George Clooney and Josh Brolin. Now comes word that these two A-listers will be joined by a trio of wonderful talent, including Clooney's 'Burn After Reading' co-star Tilda Swinton.
Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston star as contemplative vampires in Jim Jarmusch's 'Only Lovers Left Alive,' a story that is more tone poem than film. It is a languid, existential narrative that follows Adam (Hiddleston) and Eve (Swinton), two vampires who have seemingly existed since the beginning of time and have been in love for just as long, observing the world as it evolves and devolves around them. Jarmusch brings his arthouse sensibilities to the vampire genre, removing the focus from needless stereotypes and finding the humanity in the inhuman.
For a second, some people thought this is what Tilda Swinton's character in the sci-fi flick 'Snowpiercer' looked like, but as official images started making the rounds, we all realized that her look is much more drastic. Now that new character posters have been revealed, we get an up-close look at another one of her more interesting movie transformations.
For a film we know next to nothing about, 'Snowpiercer' certainly sounds cool. In fact, it sounds like on the most promising films of 2013 and it's legitimately frustrating how little we know about the movie itself and the plans for its release. Some new promotional images (cleverly displayed as passports) have arrived and while they don't fill in too many blanks, they give us a picture of what may be the best ensemble of the year.
This photo of Tilda Swinton was making the rounds recently after Modern Korea Cinema founder/editor Pierce Conran posted it to Twitter as the first look of the actress in the upcoming 'Snowpiercer.' However, further investigation proved that this was actually from a W Magazine photo shoot. These things happen.
However, our initial shock did not come from the fact that we thought this was from the film, but rather we thought Swinton was starring in a live-action reboot of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender.'
