With 'Men in Black 3' not exactly impressing critics, it seems like Will Smith's best days may be behind him. And judging by the reaction at the 'Men in Black 3' premiere after party, it could be way behind him.
The crowd at the party went nuts when Smith took the stage with his former partner DJ Jazzy Jeff for an impromptu concert that included some classic jams.
Long before Will Smith uses a sci-fi doohickey to travel back to 1969, time already seems out of whack in 'Men in Black 3.' The film supposedly takes place in 2012, 14 years after Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) first recruited Agent J (Smith) into the secret order of the world's well-dressed space cops. But the film looks like it takes place in 1997, from the creature and set design, right down to the wildly dated 'Jerry Maguire' jokes. In other words, 'Men in Black 3' has been brewing for a long time -- but very little of it feels ready for public consumption, even after all those years of development.
Being the son of Will Smith has its perks, like getting to tour the White House with President Obama, or summoning Alfonso Ribeiro to do "The Carlton" dance whenever you want. We're sure that second part is totally true and not at all some weird 'Fresh Prince' fantasy we have.
But the first part is true, and Jaden Smith -- young actor and son of Will -- had the chance to talk to Obama, so he asked him about the existence of aliens, obviously.
Will Smith may be the biggest movie star in the world, but his millions of fans will never let him forget his humble beginnings as the star of 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.' While in England to promote the release of 'Men in Black 3,' Smith was coerced into performing the show's iconic theme song on 'The Graham Norton Show.' And yeah, it's kind of awesome.
Have you had enough ridiculous in your week? What if we told you that Tom Cruise is starring in a 'Van Helsing' reboot and fans are pushing for Donald Glover to star in Michael Bay's 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie? All this and Will Smith on a gyro-cycle in this week's dose of ridiculous!
