Sony went on a release date-spree earlier today, scheduling a ton of upcoming films for 2016 and 2017. In addition to Bad Boys 3 and Bad Boys 4, the studio also set a 2017 date for the first film in Stephen King’s Dark Tower franchise and announced dates for a handful of anticipated projects, like Edgar Wright’s latest, the Barbie movie, Underworld 5 and more.
It’s been a couple of years since we were delighted by The World’s End, but we’re finally getting another new movie from Edgar Wright: the curiously titled Baby Driver, with Divergent star Ansel Elgort in the leading role. Joining Elgort in the film is Lily James, star of this year’s surprisingly wonderful and enchanting live-action Cinderella.
Wherever Edgar Wright goes, we’ll follow, and since he parted ways with ‘Ant-Man,’ the director has lined up not just one, but two new projects. Today brings an update on the first of those two new films: ‘Baby Driver.’ Sony and TriStar will release the project, with ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ leading man Ansel Elgort in early talks to join the cast.
