The trailer for the handsomely-mounted live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast surfaced on Tuesday, and drew strong reactions across the board. Many were taken with the first look at the Emma Watson/Dan Stevens romance, allowing themselves to be flooded with the same swooning emotion that Disney’s animated film conjured back in 1991. Some were less impressed, expressing low-level terror at the unnatural-looking designs for Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth, Lumiere, and the rest of the anthropomorphized household object gang. But regardless of overall reception, one thing is for certain: The Guardian notes that an unprecedented crap-ton of people accessed the trailer on YouTube, making 2017’s Beauty and the Beast the most-viewed-in-a-24-hour-period trailer of all time.

When the news that Disney was making a live-action Beauty and the Beast movie dropped, we all wondered one thing: how close was this version sticking to the original? Would the costumes look the same? Would the inanimate object characters be changed at all? Would there still be songs? From what we’ve seen, it looks like everything in this version, will look the same, just more realistic. Emma Watson’s Belle still has her blue-and-white outfit, the Beast looks similar, if not a little more uncanny-valley, and Lumiere and Cogsworth look more or less like themselves, just with a few tweaks.

While we continue to wait for a full trailer (ahem, Disney, let’s do this already) for Beauty and the Beast, Disney has released nine new high-res images from the upcoming live-action remake. The stills (which you can view in the gallery above) feature beautiful, detailed looks at Emma Watson’s Belle, Dan Stevens’ Beast, Luke Evans’ Gaston, and all those charming animated household helpers. And although Bill Condon’s film looks pretty faithful to the original animated version, Watson has revealed that they made at least one significant change to the story — Belle’s backstory, specifically.

The wait for the full Beauty and the Beast trailer has reached agonizing levels, as Disney spent the last couple of months promoting the new 25th anniversary Blu-ray release of the classic animated film. Thankfully, we’ve gotten a few sneak peeks at the live-action redo via concept art, behind-the-scenes stills and a clip from a featurette on the aforementioned Blu-ray — and now we have a couple of new photos giving us our first look at Emma Watson’s Belle and Dan Stevens’ beast. But still no trailer. Sad trombone.

It’s a tale as old as time. On Sunday night Angela Lansbury made a surprise appearance at a special New York screening of Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ The 1991 Disney classic made its debut as a work in progress at the Film Society of Lincoln Center 25 years ago this month, so what better way to celebrate than have the original Mrs. Potts sing ‘Beauty and the Beast’?

It’s been about four months since Disney premiered the first teaser for their live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, and the wait for the official, full-length trailer hasn’t gotten any easier. Following last week’s reveal of concept art and behind-the-scenes photos, the studio has debuted a clip from a new sneak peek that’s included on the upcoming 25th anniversary release of the animated classic.

Last Friday, producer Jack Morrissey posted several pieces of concept art and behind-the-scenes photos from Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast remake. It gave us our first real look at Luke Evans’ dastardly Gaston, as well as Lumiere and Cogsworth, voiced by Ewan McGregor and Ian McKellen, respectively. It looks like we should’ve kept an eye on Morrissey’s Facebook page because the producer shared one more photo later in the day, and this one gives us our first behind-the-scenes look at Dan Stevens as the eponymous Beast.

Back in May, Disney released the first teaser trailer for their live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, and although it was a rather lovely homage to the teaser for the classic animated version, it’s the only real preview we’ve had for the upcoming film. While we anxiously await the full official trailer, new concept art has debuted online that offers our first look at Lumiere and Cogsworth, along with a behind-the-scenes image of Gaston’s famous musical sequence.
