‘Brave’ Offers a Video About Its Sound Production
There is likelihood, or at least a possibility - that there will be a 'Brave 2.' The Pixar movie is a success, and while it would be nice for the wholly original tale to inspire more films not based on a pre-existing work, the truth is that it will sooner spin-off material related to itself, whether in the form of features, shorts or a television series. Hardcore Pixar fans may continue wishing for ‘Incredibles 2', but mainstream audiences with their short memories might be more easily sold on a return to the lush animated world of 10th century Scotland. And Disney, surely surprised by the film’s positive reception from boys, no longer has to fear the property is solely for the less-preferred female demographic.
When it comes to winning big at the box office, never bet against Pixar. 'Brave' is not only the acclaimed animation studio's thirteenth film, it is their thirteenth film to open at number one at the box office. It's a track record that just about everyone else in Hollywood would kill for.
A piece went viral on the Internet recently called 'The 22 Rules of Storytelling, According to Pixar,' and if anyone is qualified to create the rules of storytelling, it's the animation wizards who gave us 'Finding Nemo,' 'WALL-E,' 'Up,' and the 'Toy Story' trilogy. Looking over their list of rules, and comparing them against my lukewarm reaction to Pixar's latest animated film 'Brave,' I find myself hung up on Rule #3:
"#3: Trying for theme is important, but you won't see what the story is actually about until you're at the end of it. Now rewrite."
Disney is gearing up to release 'Brave' in theaters this June. The movie, which is basically Pixar's rendition of an arrow-slinging Katniss from 'The Hunger Games,' is set in the lush lands of Scotland, a place all of us should visit really soon. Why's that? Because Disney is offering to bring you on a magical tour across the great land.
As is par for the course of marketing these days, there's now a new clip from Pixar's 'Brave,' which hits theaters June 22. It plays up the family dynamic of King Fergus's kingdom, and shows how the group interact behind closed doors. It seems the King (voiced by Billy Connolly) is something of a braggart.
June is about to get big with much-anticipated movie releases like Pixar's 'Brave,' Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus,' and 'Snow White and the Huntsman.' We break down this month's new theatrical releases so you can get pumped for the 2012 summer movie season.
When you're Pixar it's good to take chances, and there's something of a gamble in their upcoming film 'Brave.' It's their first film to have a female lead, which means that they're encroaching on Disney's Princess territory. It's good to give yourself a challenge, and it appears that's what Pixar has done. We've got some new stills, check them out.
