Joe: Retaliation' may feature tons of big, explosive action, but a newly spot has us more interested in the dynamic between Dwayne Johnson and Channing Tatum, who come off like a well-honed comedy team instead of American super soldiers. However, this new clip takes a step away from all of the explosions and carnage and offers a look at stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Channing Tatum, who get a chance to engage in some surprisingly funny banter.

‘Side Effects’ Review

Side Effects Review
Open Road Films

Press screenings of Steven Soderbergh's 'Side Effects' -- supposedly the director's final theatrical film before his self-imposed retirement -- were carefully monitored for latecomers. Stragglers who arrived after the screening began were greeted by signs like this one, reading that "due to the non-linear nature of this film, it would be unrewarding for you to enter at this point." This sort of thing is fairly unprecedented at press screenings (at least in my 10 or so years of experience), but they do resemble warnings that were placed outside theaters back in 1960, when what would become one of the most famous movies in Hollywood history was released to theaters -- a knowing wink from "The Filmmakers," as they signed their note, indicating their inspiration in this endeavor. That inspiration can be found here -- but be warned that clicking that link could probably be considered a spoiler.

The footage itself has been sort of a precursor mini-thriller in that we're left wondering whether our 'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' is crazy or her seemingly iffy therapist (Jude Law) has something to do with it. Well, now the plot thickens with more confusion as the new UK international trailer has debuted, revealing more bits of the story.

Paramount Pictures
Paramount Pictures

When Paramount Pictures abruptly decided to pull 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' off their release slate last year - just one month before it was to open - rumors began flying that the reason was to add more Channing Tatum, who unexpectedly became a sizable box office draw thanks to movies like 'The Vow' and '21 Jump Street' but was just a supporting player in the sequel.

Today, 'Joe' producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura has squashed all hope of a significant extra amount of Tatum. Read the producer's words on the matter after the break.
