Pop culture nerds undoubtedly have a laundry list of things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving — maybe it’s Jeff Goldblum, or another great (and overwhelming) year of peak TV, or a new Star Wars sequel. For some of you, it might be this first teaser for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (oh, they’re just going to stick with that title? OK), which features Chris Pratt interacting with a cute little velociraptor. Although…if we’ve learned anything from these people and their terrifying attempts at playing god with “amusement” parks, it’s that you should never, ever get close to these things.

Acting isn’t easy, especially when you’re forced to say all kinds of dialogue about made-up stuff like Ravagers and Celestials and living planets in some indie genre flick. Kurt Russell was one of the (many) highlights of this year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but even he had some trouble with everyone’s names.

Well, that’s one way to promote your upcoming home video releases! A few months ago, fans who sat all the way through to the end of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 were treated to more than a handful of bonus scenes: they were also treated to “Guardians Inferno” by The Sneepers, a fictitious disco band that also included a guest appearance by noted German pop star David Hasselhoff. No bonus footage could hold a candle to the infectious disco pop of the song, and plenty of people - myself included - immediately went home and listened to the track on repeat. It’s everything we want the delightfully weird Marvel universe to be.

10 Questions We Have After ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’
To the surprise of absolutely no one, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 reigned supreme at the box office last weekend, earning $145 million in its first days of U.S. release. The movie also garnered solid reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and an A CinemaScore. People dig it. We did too! But that doesn’t mean it didn’t leave us with a couple lingering questions, both about some of the film’s finer plot points, and about what they mean for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Here’s ten of the things we’re still thinking about after #GOTG2.

Avengers and Guardians Get Competitive in ‘Infinity War’
Thanos finally getting some real screen time in Avengers: Infinity War as the ultimate big bad is pretty exciting, but possibly even more exciting is the fact that we’ll also get to see our two favorite Marvel superhero teams come face-to-face for the first time. Until now, there hasn’t been any connective tissue to bridge the gap between the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy, but a foe like Thanos needs more than one group of heroes to take him down. But while these heroes are incredibly powerful, don’t expect them to buddy up with each other right off the bat.
