The new DCEU film has its first poster, with more details on the way this week.

Four months after hitting theaters in the U.S., Justice League has ended its worldwide box office run as the lowest-grossing film in the DC Extended Universe franchise.

A Wrinkle in Time may not have performed nearly as well as Disney (and the rest of us) hoped, but it’s going to take a lot more than one blockbuster stumble and some negative reviews to keep major studios away from Ava DuVernay. In what is surely the best thing to happen to DC Films since hiring Patty Jenkins, DuVernay is in talks to tackle New Gods — a superhero epic that could launch a whole new franchise.

Hold onto your butts because that Joker origin movie just keeps getting wilder. According to a new report, Todd Phillips’ DCEU spinoff is taking a page from Martin Scorsese’s The King of Comedy, exploring how one desperate man’s failed career as a stand-up comic in the ’80s inspired him to become Batman’s most iconic villain. Is this a movie project or a series of escalating dares?

A new photo from the set of the upcoming film starring Zachary Levi as the titular superhero has leaked, giving us our first look at his extremely colorful — and comic book-accurate — costume.

Depending on how you feel about Michael Bay and / or the DC Comics character Lobo, the idea of the former directing a movie about the latter is kind of perfect — either because they’re both awful, or because Lobo, a giant blue-skinned alien bounty hunter ripped from the cover of an Iron Maiden album, is right in Bay’s explosive, in-your-face wheelhouse. Regardless of your personal feelings on the matter, Michael Bay might be directing his very first superhero movie, and of course it’s for DC Films.

Listen, “From (two of) the writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming…” definitely sounds more attractive than “From the directors of the Vacation reboot,” but you’ll have to just split the difference with John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein — and hey, they have a 50-50 (or 25-75?) shot of making a great Flashpoint movie for DC Films…which is a long-winded way of reporting that Daley and Goldstein are in talks to helm Ezra Miller’s big solo project for Warner Bros.

It’s been a wild and bumpy — so, so bumpy — ride for the DCEU thus far. The studio’s most beloved characters are played by women, while their best (and, many would argue, only good) movie to date is Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman solo film. That may very well change in the coming years with new heroes and villains (and new films), but the studio’s plans are somewhat scattered and convoluted — which is why they’ve enlisted a new DC Films president to help right the ship.

It seemed inevitable that something would have to give behind the scenes in the DCEU, and with the recent success of Wonder Woman, the hiring of Matt Reeves to helm The Batman, and Ben Affleck’s heavily-rumored departure — among other things — a major change felt imminent. That change has come, as a new report reveals that a huge shakeup is underway with the DCEU, with the head of the comic book film production division leaving his post, while the role of DC chief creative officer Geoff Johns will become “more advisory in nature.”

By now you’re all familiar with Aquaman, the walking collection of action figure one-liners and whiskey swigs played by Jason Momoa in the DCEU. Thanks to Justice League, we know what Aquaman looks and sounds like — it might not even be crazy to suggest that we kind of know what he smells like, too. Salt water, whiskey, and leather, right? So while the latest image of Aquaman isn’t exactly a first look, it is most definitely our first look at Jason “MY MAN!” Momoa in his superhero’s solo movie.
