‘Mortdecai’ Trailer: Johnny Depp, Johnny Depp’s Moustache, and Something About an Art Heist
The new 'Mortdecai' trailer has all of the necessary elements to make us write it off completely: Johnny Depp doing a dumb voice, Johnny Depp with a dumb moustache, Johnny Depp wearing at least two stupid hats and well, lets be honest here, the mere presence of Johnny Depp in a 2014 movie. And yet, there's something about this movie that intrigues us and grabs our attention, despite our better judgment.

She was eventually replaced by Gavin O’Connor (‘Warrior’), but before the dust settled much of the original cast (and even some of their replacements) had come and gone. Michael Fassbender signed on then departed, along with Bradley Cooper and Jude Law. The final lineup includes Ewan McGregor, Joel Edgerton, and Noah Emmerich, plus the film’s stalwart leading lady, Natalie Portman.

So far, we have heard rumors that two of the three planned 'Star Wars' spinoffs were to follow Boba Fett and Han Solo. A recent report suggests that despite earlier reports that the spinoffs wouldn't follow any Jedi or Sith characters, Lucasfilm is currently working with artists and a writer to develop an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie.

Although the trailer doesn't sell any of the plot of 'Mortdecai,' it does sell Johnny Depp's newest weird character: a snobby art dealer who appears debonair but is actually a bit of a bumbling oaf. Depp doesn't wear any silly hats this time around, but he does have a silly mustache and a wacky accent, so everything balances out in the end.

If you were wondering how closely 'Star Wars: Episode 7' would be tied to the previous films in the franchise, the answer is it's looking very much like "at the hip." We've just learned that the evil Emperor Palpatine would be making a return in J.J. Abrams' long-awaited sequel, and now it looks like another supposedly dead character is set to show up.
