Over the past week we’ve seen lots of new stuff from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, including photos, character details, more photos, info on those highly-publicized reshoots, some other photos, and oh, hey, what do we have here? It’s more photos! We have six images from the upcoming Star Wars anthology film along with more details about the characters, including Mon Mothma — who will have a bigger role than we previously assumed.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is holding reshoots this summer. No one disputes this. What is disputed is just what those reshoots mean for the movie, how much the film is changing in the middle of production, who is in charge of those reshoots, and whether it means the production is in any kind of trouble.

Another day, another update on those Rogue One reshoots, which went from being a typical part of production to an intensely scrutinized process in record time. The most recent report on Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars spinoff indicated that the majority of the reshoots are merely to add more dialogue and smaller character moments, but the latest update suggests that at least some of the action sequences might be getting a little work, too.

The rumors surrounding the reshoots on Rogue One escalated pretty quickly, and within less than 48 hours we went from “Disney is unhappy” to “it needs some levity, no big deal” to “Christopher McQuarrie is involved and they’re reshooting 40 percent of the film.” Crazy. Today brings yet another report, this time offering some much-needed clarification on exactly what’s happening behind the scenes with Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars Story.

Over the last couple of days there’s been a bit of news regarding reshoots on Rogue One, with the initial report claiming that Disney is unhappy with Gareth Edwards’ cut of the Star Wars anthology film. Subsequent reports revealed what many already suspected: it’s just your usual run of reshoots to retool and fine-tune some things, mostly to lighten the tone. And according to a new rumor, while Disney may not be outright displeased with Rogue One, the reshoots may be a bit more involved than we thought.

When Legendary’s latest version of Godzilla opened to big box office back in 2014, the studio was quick to move ahead on a sequel with the first film’s director, Gareth Edwards, back to direct the film. But then progress stalled. Legendary announced that they were making a King Kong film, Kong: Skull Island, and that Kong and Godzilla would clash in Godzilla Vs. Kong, provided that neither Godzilla nor Kong’s mom is named Martha. Godzilla 2 was bumped back to 2019, a long time between installments in the sequel-minded world of modern Hollywood. I mean I know Godzilla is really big and moves slow, but this is really slow.

December still seems pretty far away, but in just eight months fans will be swarming theaters to see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the franchise’s anthology film. Aside from an official cast photo and a few Instagram prop pics, we haven’t had much to go on as production has remained fairly secretive — perhaps even more so than The Force Awakens. But if you — like us — have been wondering when the first trailer for Rogue One will arrive, we officially have an answer. And it’s tomorrow morning.
