Since Lucasfilm unveiled the cast of 'Star Wars: Episode 7' last week as they commenced with the first table read -- how do we put this bluntly? -- we've pretty much been taking anything we can get from the film. While Sunday's Star Wars Day was in full swing (and May the 4th still be with you always), Lucasfilm unveiled our first look at Peter Mayhew back in costume as Chewbacca.
'Star Wars: Episode 7' has finally announced its cast after a long process that has spanned months of speculation and rumors. The stars of the original trilogy - Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker - have finally been confirmed, and they'll be joined by newcomers to the franchise Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Max von Sydow, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis and Domhnall Gleeson.
With shooting already begun in some capacity, the full cast of 'Star Wars: Episode 7' should be announced very soon. In the meantime, the fans have been thrown one very large bone: Peter Mayhew, the man behind the faithful Wookie co-pilot Chewbacca, will be among those returning to the galaxy far, far away.
Original Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew seemed unlikely to reprise his role in the upcoming 'Star Wars: Episode 7,' given that he only recently underwent double knee-replacement surgery and needs ample time to recuperate. However, the actor is not only hellbent on walking again in a timely fashion, but to also bring back our favorite Wookiee.
