Until now, all we’ve seen of the beasties are little bits and pieces, but now we know for sure what at least two of them look like. And, yes, they’re very big.

Superheroes don’t have to come from the brightly-colored pages of American comic books; the Power Rangers series that captivated youngsters during the ‘90s and early 2000s had roots in Japan, stemming from their tradition of kaiju films. After starring in arguably the greatest television series of all time, Bryan Cranston has certainly earned the right to pick any movie or television projects that he darn well pleases. In a possible bid to force people who love comics to see the movie, Power Rangers is rolling out a sequel comic that picks up after the events of the film. This marks a continuation of the franchise movie-based comic that’s for come reason become even more popular this year — The Great Wall is getting a prequel comic before the movie’s release that’ll explain a little more of the movie’s backstory, like why exactly there are monsters trying to scale the Great Wall of China. Power Rangers: Aftershock will be an in-canon story that follows up with our five heroes after the credits roll.

Elizabeth Banks’ Rita Repulsa is back in a new image from the upcoming Power Rangers movie, and she looks pretty darn pleased with herself. The Power Rangers official Twitter account debuted a new still of the villain, with the caption “Thought you saw the last of me!? Ignoramus, you thought wrong. I have glorious catastrophic plans for the holiday season.”

You know that Power Rangers movie that still seems to be happening, despite there being absolutely no reason for it to be? You know how Elizabeth Banks is playing the villain? The mind continues to boggle at every turn with this movie, and it’s honestly impossible at this point to predict whether it will be good, bad, or so bad it’s good. But Elizabeth Banks is a talented actress who’s clearly not afraid to put on a lot of weird makeup and outfits for her characters, as evidenced by all four of the Hunger Games movies. Lionsgate released a new image of her Rita Repulsa, complete with evil scepter.
