Universal

'Ride Along' is still in theaters and still raking in the big bucks at the box office, but 'Ride Along 2' is already in the works. To be more specific, the sequel is eyeing a summer shoot and a 2015 release date, making this one of the fastest turnarounds for a sequel we've ever seen.

Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Ride Along’ Laps ‘That Awkward Moment’ and ‘Labor Day’

Focus Features

Unless you had a personal stake in a film being released this weekend, movies were far from the most important thing happening to you these past couple of days. You can blame the weekend's mostly anemic box office on one thing: the Super Bowl. Everyone spent their money buying snacks and preparing their parties and not going to see 'That Awkward Moment' and 'Labor Day,' both of which opened soft.

‘Ride Along’ Review

Ride Along review
Universal Pictures

If you’ve recently watched Antoine Fuqua’s hard-bitten 2001 cop drama ‘Training Day’ and found yourself imagining what it would look like with a zippy comedic cast and a bizarrely convoluted plotline, Tim Story’s 'Ride Along' is the answer to your oddly specific cinematic dreams. For the latest round of big screen "good cop, bad cop, dumb cop," Kevin Hart and Ice Cube star as diametrically opposed do-gooders with very different ways of getting things done, even as they both rigorously adhere to the letter of the law.

Ride Along Trailer HD
Universal

Yahoo! has debuted the trailer for 'Ride Along,' the new comedy from the director and producer of 'Think Like a Man.' The film pairs the comedy duo of Kevin Hart and Ice Cube as two mismatched guys -- a cop and his sister's boyfriend -- as they go on a crazy 24-hour ride along through the streets of Atlanta. Ice Cube, who also starred in '21 Jump Street,' plays the role of the cop -- obviously -- while Hart is his foil, a big-mouthed rookie desperate to prove his worth.
