For the second year in a row, every actor nominated in all four acting categories for the Academy Awards is a white person. All 20 nominees for Best Actor and Actress and Best Supporting Actor and Actress are white people, reigniting the Twitter hashtag #OscarsSoWhite. And while many of us are comfortable in our power to merely comment via social media, there are a couple of strong voices who are fed up and ready to do something about it: director Spike Lee and actor Jada Pinkett-Smith have announced plans to boycott the Oscars this year, while the host of the 2016 awards himself has called the Academy out for their persistent negligence to nominate people of color.

Spike Lee’s Bold ‘Chi-Raq’ Releases Two Trailers
We’ve been blessed with not just one, but two new Spike Lee films this year, both retellings of established stories, and both very different kinds of movies. Following the release of Da Sweet Blood of Jesus (based on the cult classic Ganja and Hess) earlier this year, Lee returns with Chi-Raq — based on the ancient Greek comedy Lysistrata, the film also happens to be Amazon’s first original production, and we have two new trailers for the ambitious project.

This is what a successful $1.4 million Kickstarter gets you: the newest, hottest Spike Lee joint, ‘Da Sweet Blood Of Jesus.’ About a year and a half after Lee raised all that money, Gravitas Ventures stepped in and acquired the film, which is described as “a reinterpretation of Bill Gunn’s 1973 cult horror classic ‘Ganja & Hess,’” and planned a February 2015 theatrical release. With opening day just a few months away, we now have the film’s trailer.

'Oldboy' Review
You'd think that a guy trapped in a hotel room for 20 years would find a better movie to be in once he got out, right? 'Oldboy,' Spike Lee's remake of the Park Chan-wook cult film from 2003, is a fairly rotten film, which is strange because it is very similar to the rather effective original. Sometimes, though, there's something gained in the translation.

Josh Brolin is back with a vengeance, as is apparent in a newly released clip from 'Oldboy,' the American remake of Park Chan-wook's 2003 South Korean mystery-thriller. While we've already seen bits of him in action, in addition to his co-star Elizabeth Olsen ('The Avengers 2'), FilmDistrict offers up even more footage, plus new photos featuring 'Elysium' star Sharlto Copley, and more!

We're just a few of months away from the release of Spike Lee's 'Oldboy,' a remake of Park Chan-wook's insta-classic South Korean tale of suffering and revenge. FilmDistrict released some new, hi-res photos today to give us a peek at some of the film's major players -- including Samuel L. Jackson with a blonde afro-mohawk.

‘Oldboy’ Pushed Back Again; Is the Spike Lee Joint in Trouble?
Spike Lee's 'Oldboy' changed some skeptical minds when the red-band trailer hit earlier this month. Looking like a faithful and intense remake, the trailer got us thinking that the movie might be a thriller worthy of our time after all. But, now comes the news that it's release date has been pushed back, and this isn't the first time. Should we be concerned?

‘Oldboy’ Remake Gets a Delightfully Weird Poster
The worst thing a remake of Park Chan-Wook's incredible 'Oldboy' can be is generic, which is why a newly released poster for Spike Lee's upcoming remake has, for the first time, filled us with true optimism about the project. The fact that an official one-sheet for the film is this bizarre leads up to believe that (maybe, perhaps, hopefully) the final film will be as insane as the Korean original.
