Just yesterday we got our first look at The LEGO Batman Movie via a batch of new images featuring the mini-caped crusader voiced by Will Arnett, reprising his role from The LEGO Movie. Tomorrow brings the first trailer, and while we impatiently wait to see the shenanigans Warner Bros. has cooked up for the LEGO spinoff, the studio has unveiled an official poster featuring a familiar logo design.

Yes, we know you’re excited about Batman vs. Superman, but with that movie set for release this Friday, it’s also time to start getting excited for that other Batman movie. If you’re not particularly a fan of Jared Leto’s Joker aesthetic in Suicide Squad, then the latest Joker-centric news may put a smile on that face (sorry): Zach Galifianakis is in talks to join Will Arnett’s Batman and Michael Cera’s Robin in the LEGO Batman movie as the voice of the iconic clown prince. Cue laughter.

The LEGO Movie is a project that consists entirely of inspired ideas, but casting the gravelly-voiced Will Arnett as Batman is probably in the top five. With the character’s spin-off in the works, the inspired casting continues! It seems that the soft-spoken Michael Cera is set voice Robin in LEGO Batman.

Following the massive success of The LEGO Movie, Warner Bros. has been developing a slew of follow-ups in their quickly growing franchise, including a sequel and a handful of spinoffs. But when will we see the next installments in this new franchise? WB has just revealed some release dates to brighten your day.

The LEGO Movie proved audiences’ appetite for charming, mildly subversive animated movies about talking toys. Now Warner Bros. is testing that appetite with a whole line of LEGO movies. There already announced Ninjago film in 2016, a Lego Batman Movie in 2017, and The Lego Movie 2 in 2018. Per The Hollywood Reporter, that onslaught will also includes a fourth film, a LEGO spinoff titled The Billion Brick Race, which will be co-written and directed by Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Muppets’ Jason Segel.

Today brings another update from Lord and Miller—this time regarding the highly-anticipated spin-off ‘The LEGO Batman Movie,’ in which Will Arnett will reprise his role as everyone’s favorite brooding superhero. We kind of know what ‘The LEGO Movie 2' is about, but what will LEGO Batman's new spin-off be about?

Originally, ‘The LEGO Movie’ writing and directing duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller planned to act solely as producers on the sequel. But that’s changed, and the pair will now write the screenplay (though they are still not directing), as well as produce the sequel and its planned spin-offs. Lord and Miller have previously revealed little about ‘The LEGO Movie 2,’ but in a new interview they’ve opened up about why they decided to write the script, and deliver a few details about the sequel as well as the LEGO Ninjago and Batman films.
