Tomorrowland

In a summer filled with sequels and remakes and reboots, Tomorrowland is one of the few truly massive releases that doesn’t have a number in the title. While it may take its name from a “land” in Disney theme parks, the new trailer showcases a film that looks awfully ambitious, nutty and original. The studio’s accountants certainly see this as another avenue in strengthening the company’s theme park IP, but if all such exercises had directors like Brad Bird, the world would probably be a better place, full of more interesting movies.

As most of you are aware, Tomorrowland was a concept created by Walt Disney, as a platform to showcase the innovations of tomorrow that would benefit future generations. We know that Disney himself (or a fictional version, anyway) is involved in the new Tomorrowland movie, which means there should be some fun connections for longtime fans of his theme parks and classic television specials. New featurettes explore some of those connections, along with what a place like Tomorrowland stands for.

Amid all the excitement for Avengers: Age of Ultron, you may be forgetting another Disney film hitting theaters this May: Tomorrowland. Brad Bird and Damon Lindelof are combining their forces for what seems like a promising sci-fi adventure, and Disney has just dropped a riveting new TV spot with a couple of things we haven’t seen yet.

One of the few remaining mysteries of this upcoming summer movie season is Brad Bird's Tomorrowland. It's mysterious because it's not a sequel, or based on a comic book or a reboot or remake. It's just a big movie that we know very little about, and that's just the way they want it. But, what exactly is Tomorrowland. This new trailer gives us our best look yet.

Tomorrowland is only a few months away and we still know very little about director Brad Bird’s new science fiction adventure. Although that may change in just a few days! Disney has revealed a new poster for the film and along with it, a date for the new trailer.

We haven’t seen much from ‘Tomorrowland’ yet, so the new Super Bowl trailer is very pleasant surprise for anyone anticipating the new film from director Brad Bird. In fact the trailer leans heavily on Bird’s name, promoting the film as being the latest project from the genius who made ‘The Incredibles’ and ‘Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol.’ More importantly, the new trailer feels like exactly what we needed after that vague teaser. There is as much action and excitement in these quick spot as their is mystery in the full trailer.

As briefly mentioned in that post featuring the new ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ photo, Disney’s 2015 release slate is kind of insane. The studio is releasing 12 new films, averaging out to one new movie per month. If things go well at the box office (and they probably will), they might very well indeed be the highest-grossing studio next year, thanks to releases like ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ two new Pixar movies, and two new superhero films from Marvel Studios.

First things first: let's watch that first 'Tomorrowland' trailer again! The first footage from Disney's mysterious new movie debuted during New York Comic Con, as director Brad Bird, producer Damon Lindelof and stars Raffey Cassidy, Britt Robertson, Hugh Laurie and George Clooney took the stage to reveal even more details. Yes, this trailer is incredible and instantly bumps this film up on our list of most-anticipated releases of 2015, but even more footage debuted at Comic Con than was revealed online.

Hot on the heels of yesterday's first look comes the first 'Tomorrowland' trailer, which promises to shed more light on one of the most mysterious summer blockbusters in ages. And it does! Sort of. This is the very definition of a teaser trailer.

After being cloaked in secrecy for much of its production, Disney's 'Tomorrowland' has finally revealed some true details about what this ambitious film is all about ... and it sounds a bit like a science-fiction version of 'Harry Potter.' In other words, it sounds like a license to print money.
