Over the years, the WWE has sent various superstars from the wrestling mats to major Hollywood studios in hopes of sparking feature-film careers. “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, John Cena, Hulk Hogan and, of course, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson all have had varying degrees of success on the silver screen. Now the diminutive wrestler Hornswoggle’s going to try and follow in their massive footsteps.
Just a week ago, the WWE announced star Randy Orton would head up the cast list in 'The Marine: Homefront,' one of the company's trio of planned Marine-themed movies.
But Orton was quickly pulled from the film on Tuesday after it came to light that he was dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps back in 1999.
With next week's release of 'The Hunger Games' and all the positive buzz on the web from critics, Lionsgate seems poised to become a studio we can take more seriously... But then they went and did this.
