Thanks in part to worldwide box office grosses, 3D presentations of blockbuster films aren’t leaving us anytime soon. The least studios can do is have a little fun with it and offer an additional incentive, which is what Lucasfilm and Disney are doing for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Why wear those plain, boring 3D glasses when you can sport some special Captain Phasma shades?

RealD and Lucasfilm / Disney have partnered for special edition 3D glasses for screenings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which should inspire audiences to hang on to these spiffy glasses instead of tossing them in that bulky 3D glasses recycling bin outside the theater. Theater-goers can choose between BB-8, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren and Stormtrooper-style glasses, each designed to evoke the aesthetic of the character they represent. While BB-8 is the most popular character right now, those Stormtrooper shades might be the sleekest of the bunch — or as sleek as you can get for 3D glasses.

It was also revealed today that — like most other major films — The Force Awakens will hit theaters in the UK and France a little earlier than the US release. France will have the film on December 15, while the UK will see it on December 16. Star Wars: The Force Awakens arrives in US theaters on December 18.
