No, this isn't a remake of the De Niro-Pacino classic. 'The Heat' brings Sandra Bullock, perhaps Hollywood's most bankable actress, and 'Bridesmaids' scene-stealer Melissa McCarthy, last year's most unlikely "it girl,"  together for a raucous buddy comedy that sees the two playing mismatched law enforcers. Can you imagine?!

The trailer for the comedy, directed by McCarthy's 'Bridesmaids' helmer Paul Feig, has just burst onto the internet, and you can watch it here after the break.

Storywise, the film doesn't seem to bring us anything spectacularly new, but the chemistry between Bullock (who is in semi-'Miss Congeniality' mode) and McCarthy (of course a "bull in a china shop") appears to give 'The Heat' vibrant life. After all, are there two more likable comediennes working in the movies today?

Plus, Biff Tannen -- aka Thomas F. Wilson -- is in it! That makes it a must-see on its own. (He and Feig go back to the 'Freaks and Geeks' days.)

Here's the plot: Uptight and straight-laced, FBI Special Agent Sarah Ashburn (Sandra Bullock) is a methodical investigator with a reputation for excellence -- and hyper-arrogance. Shannon Mullins (Melissa McCarthy), one of Boston P.D.'s "finest," is foul-mouthed and has a very short fuse, and uses her gut instinct and street smarts to catch the most elusive criminals. Neither has ever had a partner, or a friend for that matter. When these two wildly incompatible law officers join forces to bring down a ruthless drug lord, they become the last thing anyone expected: buddies.
