Today saw the release of the second trailer for Peter Jackson's first film in his second trilogy of J.R.R. Tolkien films, 'The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.' But that wasn't all the footage that came out. Warner Brothers created an app that let you choose which ending the trailer had. Now that footage has been assembled.

If you want to have a look for yourself and play with the application, you can over at their site, but Bleeding Cool assembled the footage themselves, and we're happy to share that video.

What is readily apparent from the footage in all of the trailers is that this is going to have a much lighter tone that the previous 'Lord of the Rings' films, and for those who know the book, that's exactly right. This is not the story of the world being saved, nor a parallel to World War II, instead it's more of a diverting adventure, and perhaps Jackson is playing on the lighter and more fun side of Tolkien's book.

Currently the trailer spends a lot of time reminding you of the earlier movies, and that's par for the course with advertising. We hope the finished film, which hits theaters December 14, doesn't spend as much time nudging the audience.
